do you think NATO is an alliance for gay marriage? if it's non-negotiable, why do 13 of its members (and ukraine) not allow it? gay marriage is great but has nothing to do with NATO at all

The Soviet Union banned it, Russia banned it, North Korea banned it, China censors lgbtq topics, and Vietnam does not allow same-sex couples certain legal protections. Communism has a much worse record.

Edit: Ps yeah a lot of the west can and should do better though.

your meme still sucks. what does this have to do with NATO? do you want NATO to use its military to enforce gay marriage? should it start with its own members? what about ukraine?

i hope to see it legalized in all socialist countries (like it is in Cuba!) but do you think things happen instantly? most western countries have only legalized it in the last 5-10 years and in many countries further from the western core conservative social views can be more of a problem to overcome.

1918 Soviet Russia was very early in decriminalizing homosexuality. Cuba has some of the most progressive stances on LGBTQ rights, particularly with the new family code. And East Germany was much more progressive than West/United Germany pre-2017 with gay rights. The most progressive states were in the 2nd world, even if it was very far from uniform.

if gay marriage had any relationship to the actions of NATO, why would it have member states where it is not legal? why would NATO be hostile to the Republic of Cuba, a country where it is legal?

If it was non negotiable, Poland wouldn't be in NATO. NATO doesn't care about gay rights at all, their purpose is to enforce Western hegemony, which is bad for the world. There is no queer liberation without class liberation, and NATO works against that.

Sorry but this is tenderqueer nonsense. Geopolitical alliances made by the ruling class (when have you ever made an input on NATO?) does not equal queer liberation even if you stretch it to the farthest extreme. Shame on you for spreading ruling class propaganda as some sort of queer gotcha statement. Your "fuck tankies" just proves to me that 196 has no idea what it's talking about. You create enemies that don't even exist and then get shocked when your propaganda is cringe (and not based on reality).

Anyway, way to go "mask off."

I edited the post to more clearly state what I mean. I do not think that Turkey should be in NATO and what Poland is doing to our lgbtq brothers and sisters is awful. I found this on discord so I reposted it because I was (probably too) angry at hexbear with only the fuck tankies part to piss them off.

What are you talking about? For NATO gay marriage IS negotiable because of the fact that they include Poland and Turkey. Plus the people you call "tankies" online are overwhelmingly LGBT and/or militantly supportive.
