That is why I was so confused, they seem to be criticizing the anti-hippie connotations of the meme, but I really don't see anything about hippies. The weird hippies I am familiar are also all extremely anti-vaxx among other things hence my jesse-wtf reaction. I don't see any caricature of a hippie in this image. My confusion arose from their seeming kneejerk reaction to this somehow being antihippie propaganda and I could not tell if they were defending hippies or whatever, it was just an incoherent mess of a comment so I reacted with the wtf emoji.

As a chronic overthinker myself, you might be overthinking it a bit. I'm pretty sure the point was just that the comic is misrepresenting "the left" and they (the poster) just happened to focus on the angle they did, as to how; the comic itself doesn't make sense in the first place, so trying to think too hard about how a specific criticism of it makes sense is going to be a tangled web. I don't think it's any deeper than them trying to commiserate on the comic being a bad faith representation by focusing on anti-war angle of things.

Sure I probably am, I am just trying to figure out where the hippie comment came from because I see nothing about hippies in the image and their comment came off as weird because of that.
