Harris campaign officials believe that talking about the current landscape of abortion restrictions in the United States is a winning strategy with female voters, particularly liberal and liberal-leaning ones. But Mr. Baier did not bring up the issue, and the vice president did not guide him there.

Instead, both of them stayed focused on immigration and border security — a topic that, according to recent polls, is near the top of the list of concerns among female voters.

At several points, Mr. Baier asked the vice president if the families of women killed by undocumented immigrants were owed apologies from Ms. Harris and the Biden administration. He read off their names from a list, one by one, and played a clip from the mother of one of the victims, who blamed the administration’s border policies for the loss of her daughter.

Dog shit political instincts. This is the same person who had to exit the primaries first in 2020. Can't win an election to save her life.

It will be amazing if the Dems lose again, the fact that this is even in the cards is frankly fucking insane

i will say if i had to guess, i'd say a harris presidency has a chance of breaking the fever of Trump Derangement Syndrome (he might even die!) and allowing some "progressives" to come to their senses, but not enough to actually care about this shit

Obama getting elected off of similar sentiments than doing jack fucking shit for 8 years is what let the current crop of fascists form.

You empower the nazis and demoralize everybody that expected things ro improve if a dem was president. And then everybody who isn't already a washington post subscriber accurately asses that no matter which party is in power their lives keep getting worse and they keep getting poorer.

Until a candidate actually redistribute wealth and improves the material conditions of everybody, even the hogs, the current 49% 51% split is just going to keep getting more diametrically opposed.

Obviously the chuds are dug in but if a politician of either party actually improved their lives they'd soften.

And that means actually improving their conditions, not "Here's a website where you can pick from a variety of plans that cost anywhere from $600 to $4000 a month, all the I es that cost less than $1200 a month do literally nothing and you get to just send a check to an insurance company (or else we'll fine you) and get nothing in return.

Instead you have democrats just constantly saying "we want to improve your lives but republicans won't let us"

Even if that's true (it's not) "we tried and failed to help you" is not a motivating message.
