I didn't know where to ask and be open about this but this has been bothering me for a while.

Basically, I never had problems with questioning but I've been thinking for a while, is it weird that I'm ace as hell, but still find some of these jokes funny, like does that affect my asexuality at all? I always cursed like sailor so that was never the problem, but lately I've also started laughing my ass of on this types of jokes, like some stuff from straights is so hilarious sometimes even if I have 0 attraction to it.

So question for any aces here:

spoiler

besides the fact that I secretly like getting bitten

, do I still count as 100% asexual even if if I find that stuff funny and make jokes?

I have a few ace friends that write and draw NSFW art 24/7. They appreciate the form, it just doesn't do anything for them. Similarly, I also know a ton of lesbians that salivate at yaoi/mlm but have no attraction to men

Yea that's too much for me, but I know some aces who can watch all of that without problem but I've been questioning myself about this regardless even if it's just jokes.

If someone is homosexual and laughs about heterosexual jokes, is the person then bisexual? And how many laughs about those jokes are needed, so that the homosexuality gets transformed into bisexuality? And this is comparable to asexuality, what you tell me asexual jokes and I find them funny. It wouldn't change my sexuality or it wouldn't change your sexuality if you laugh about sexual jokes. I mean, are asexual people not able to laugh about things they have no interest, like sexuality? Its not like they lost their humor.

Everything is fine with you. If you say, that you are asexual, then you are. Laugh about whatever you want. "Weird" is subjective. And I think there is absolute nothing weird about it :)

You couldn't possibly be weird for such a thing, there's no "normal" to begin with aside from the exploitative and patriarchal relationships encouraged by capital. Feel yourself, enjoy yourself, don't worry about labels and being a "real asexual", whatever that means. You valid! These labels are here to find community with people with similar experiences and often include a wide variety of ppl with seperate interpretations of what it means to be asexual, trans, queer or otherwise, sometimes in contradiction with each other. But they're just words to describe ourselves, when the only truth is the experiences you've had that have led you to describe yourself as such and the usefulness you find within.
