4 of their 20 papers had been published; 3 had been accepted but not yet published; 6 had been rejected; and 7 were still under review

Whole bunch of phooey from city-slickers if you ask me

if anything this hoax just shows the failures of liberalism. if these papers were analyzed in a true materialist sense, it never would've happened in the first place.

I would refer you to this post and my comment on it, cause I think it has a lot to do with it. But my two cents about it, is that a lot of post modern tendencies lead to poor methodologies and analysis of many subjects, such as those under scrutiny by this project. But to my eyes that shows a bad execution of a crucial field of study, I have the firm belief that critical analysis of how many minorities are treated, and how society discriminates against, deep dives on the reasons and who benefits from that oppression are all extremely valuable points, but people can do it poorly.

And as a last point, that ia hardly an exclusive issue to the social sciences field if you research the absolute madness that got published, specially after generative ai became popular, in the fields of biology and engineering, you'll be shocked. So tldr people messed up that don't mean the subjects of the mess up are useless.

Do you have any examples that you could pull up quickly?

I'm not really doubting your claim, but having some examples of obviously bad scholarship in engineering/biology/physical sciences would be helpful in the future.

Here you go, things are getting pretty bad with ai, and don't doubt that it has happened plenty of times before, there is plenty of evidence of misleading sudies paid by big corporations saying this and that about some thing or another that is completely false, I think in recent memory in the US there's been a big thing about downplaying the effects of sugar in health a few decades ago. So yeah
