I think most were nazi collaborators, kulaks largely stayed inside the soviet Union and were reabsorbed into the soviet system after WW2. I heard stories from Russian people that how their kulak great grandfathers were repressed but when Nazis showed up they didn't hesitate to take arms against their enemies.
