    The copers at r/optimistsunite LOOOOOOOOVE jaw jacking about carbon capture lol. If you mention that only 0.1% of carbon is removed by carbon capture, they immediately bring up muh technological up-scalability. Delusional shit.

      I figured this was coming tbh, the writing has been on the wall quietly, behind the scenes in the US energy industry for a really long time.

      very politically influential US energy firms have been quietly selling off renewables and planning to ramp up gas and weird distributed nuclear for at least the last 6 years. I used to work for one but I left when they ditched renewables.

      renewables got too cheap and China dominated for American capital to be excited about anymore

        Great idea for a community tbh. that's a terrific idea for a communist feeder community to catch libs and funnel them leftwards.

        however nobody deserves to be subjected to "redditors". it's like making people work with asbestos
