Yeah, I've only ended up in one once which was when vline completely screwed up their schedule and the train I was trying to take to Eaglehawk was about 40 minutes late, but they wanted to turn it around at Bendigo to try and get the return service running on time and save at least part of their timetable. The conductor came around and asked who was going to Eaglehawk and then called a taxi for the 8 or so of us that were trying to get there
But this is slightly more interesting because this is a permanent replacement. Evidently they've decided it's cheaper to just call a taxi for the people who want to get there than run a bus service anymore, but I guess for some reason they can't actually scrap the route
