The OP screenshot is from the TV series "Criminal Minds". My comment is about a TV series "Bones".

The UI in the OP screenshot looks like an X11 window manager from the mid to late 1990's.

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
