And that's why there isn't a single verifiable report about their presence in the war. How very convenient.

Hey look at those guys with Asian features. Sure look convincing, huh?

Considering Russia is partly in Asia, and has quite a few Asian looking minorities, none of the frontline "proof" so far actually proves anything.

Iirc the first "proof" of DPRK soldiers in Russian uniforms turned out to be Buryats, the biggest Asian minority in Russia, and it all fell apart rather quickly because they are of Mongolic origin and neither look nor speak like Koreans.

there were those people in Russian uniforms speaking Korean doing drills that was geolocated to a few dozen miles from the NK border, I think that's the only undeniable proof (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but it doesn't show anything anywhere near what the western media is claiming is happening.

Oh yeah there was something like that too, but again, there's also Korean minority in Russia, around 90000 of them so some are bound to get into the military.

There was also i think pictures of join Russian-Laotian military drills or something like that.

I guess we'll only really know once we get some sort of confirmation from Russia or DPRK. They've been open about other forms of cooperation, and there's nothing really legally wrong with DPRK soldiers fighting for Russia, so if this is happening like the Western media is saying, I'm not sure why they wouldn't tell us.

Though DPRK news publications tend to be a bit vague about what exactly their "military cooperation" means, and Russian outlets don't talk much about the DPRK, but none of that's new.

And yeah, LAROS 2024 concluded just a few months ago, and people were sharing around stuff from that. Probably just "innocent" racism, dumb westerners that can't tell the difference, I didn't see many real news outlets using those. The news media instead seems to live citing "sources" and Western intelligence agencies as their proof of DPRK involvement.

so if this is happening like the Western media is saying, I’m not sure why they wouldn’t tell us.

I'm pretty sure it is not happening, and especially not as UA propaganda tell us, so there's nothing to even comment, and just denying or engaging at all would just prompted further response and entire issue would be made into something like "did you stopped beating your wife" level. I guess they should just answer "things asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence".

Yeah, that was what I was trying to say, if they haven't said anything then it's probably not happening. I'm reminded of that comment in a previous Hexbear news megathread, something along the lines of "If they deny it, it might've happened, but if they say nothing, it didn't happen".

Side note, the Lemmy search feature isn't very good.

Remember when ukraine said they'd already killed a gazillion north Koreans 24 hours after it was announced they were getting invlolved and as a result Seoul put out a statement saying they weren't taking ukranian intelligence seriously anymore.

Love to see anonymous proving to everyone that they’re feds. No wonder they don’t do anything useful.

The OG anonymous has been jailed, driven into internal exile or outright killed long time ago. Afterwards Anonymous always was on the US line.

I especially love this idea that Ukraine needs all this help despite successfully fighting off the combined forces of 4 countries with minimal losses. Definitely not a fed talking point.

Can't believe they're trying to cover up the soldiers from mars. This 'anonymous' sure seems like some kinda commie putin shill to me.
