On the heels of TikTok's looming shutdown on January 19 over its ownership in the U.S. (unless the Supreme Court intervenes), it looks like another American users are flocking to a Chinese app called Xiaohongshu as people become less optimistic that TikTok can overturn U.S. ban.
It's hilarious to me that Tik-Tok was banned for its ties to China (despite the US version of the app being hosted entirely on servers in the US run by Oracle) only for users to flood to an app that is extremely obviously Chinese with an already existing Chinese netizen userbase.
