So, like many of you I'm sure, i have been on Xiaohongshu lately. It was like a breath of fresh air. I always knew that China was there with its 1.3 billion strong population a majority of whom are extremely based. To see it first hand though? To actually talk to them? It reignited a flame of hope inside me that was getting pretty weak lately. It's easy to get lost in the horrible shit going on. Especially in the west. Where youre surrounded by fascists and radlibs constantly. Part of why i use lemmy is to get that experience of being around sane people. Who arent existing in some alternate reality created by US propaganda.

Now despite my username I'm not one of those people who thinks China does no wrong, and is a perfect utopia. It's still very much in the early stages of socialism and admits as much. One thing i heard from a Chinese comrade though was- paraphrased: "China is preparing to bring the next international socialist movement by 2050. Things are going well, and we are confident. The party brings us good news regularly, and great progress is being made." and another one asked "Are you [people in the west] prepared for revolutionary action?"

It made me think. Am i ready - If China launched a worldwide effort to support socialist movements, and revolutions as the USSR once did - tomorrow? I'm not. Not even close. I mean yeah obviously the west itself doesn't have the conditions needed for it. It's not ready at all. Me personally I'm not either, BUT I could be with some work.

So i am going to change that. I have 25 years according to that comrade; more than enough time. I'll be a bit old, but not to the point i can't fight. I've made a plan, and already started putting it into action. No more escapism in my free time. I will be learning Chinese, teaching myself math that i missed out on in school up to calculus, learning a martial art, exercising A LOT more, diving more into my radio hobby, buying a gun/learning how to shoot it well, studying up on other useful subjects, and teaching myself some advanced first-aid. Perhaps I'll even study up on modern guerilla tactics used by the axis of resistance a bit.

If that day ever comes where I am needed be it in 2050, or otherwise I don't want to even have to consider if I'm ready or not. I want to just be able to say "hell yeah" and get to work.

Although I agree and admire the enthusiasm, you should really add "get organised" to your list. Revolution without class organisation is anarchism, and you don't actually need to be great at every single one of those things you listed in order to be prepared.

However every single party should prepare for the scenario of illegality and military conflict you seem to be prepping for.

Yes i know organizing is important, but i live in the middle of nowhere, and basically never speak to anyone irl who isn't a super conservative racist. There is nobody i could organize with in my area atm. If i ever manage to leave here i will for sure organize with others as soon as i do tho.

Comrade I also live in the middle of nowhere. My brother thought like you, but I called my chapters of DSA, CPUSA and the RCA we're the only organizing happening was taking place two hours south of us. We called everybody on those lists within 30 minutes of us, and oh boy I'll tell ya there are hundreds. Although you have to be okay with those who aren't willing to organize, and give out tasks appropriate to those too old, too young, or too sick. You can do it too! We've been going strong for a while doing lots of mutual aid work.

It sounds like you are a leader thats impressive. I dont have a car tho so even if i somehow found some people within a wider area i wouldnt be able to go to them. I do not even have a single friend, and family members are rabid conservatives. Not a lot to work with.

As for well known organizations like you mentioned i have reached out to some before, and never got responses. I could try again, but doubt i can do much right now anyway. Once i get a car it would be more viable. But by then i will probably move far away.

If i can find work in a city id be fine with commuting for a few hours by car each day for the first month or so and then getting an apartment there once i can. I have also considered taking out loans to go to school somewhere but idk if i can afford it even with loans. Either way once i leave this place is when i would organize. Or atleast when i have a car if i end up stuck here even then.

Are you already organizing with people? Maybe that is supposed to be self evident here, but feels like a glaring omission to being "prepared for revolutionary action". Glad you are feeling motivate and inspired though!

No i do not have access to that sort of thing right now. I live in a very isolated low population area, and barely ever even speak to another human being in person unless its some crazy trump supporter. As that is the only ones around me. I will hopefully one day be able to leave this place if it becomes financially possible, and will organize once i do.

I hope it doesnt take until 2050 to see some kind of international socialist movement. I think we need to prepare for revolutionary action within our own countries and the best we can hope from China is they would support it if we were to succeed. And as other people said getting organized is key to that -- there are many spontaneous events that help radicalize people but its about seizing those opportunities to create a lasting movement.

    China's non-interventionism is both a blessing and a curse.

I hope so. I just hope that this time around, the US has an actual socialist movement so the US government doesn't use China supporting socialism to start mass killing and arresting black leftists again.

I will admit completely that I am pretty doomer about the future of humanity and for life on earth. I personally think if it takes till 2050 to start something like this in full force it'll be too late. That the impacts of the global pollution due to continued, unchecked capitalism will be beyond humanities ability to fix. I'm not saying we shouldn't TRY, just that I think it'll be too late.
