I know nothing about little Vietnam in Chicago; is it like the Cubans in Florida that hate Castro/socialism, or is there a significant chunk that’s on the left to some extent?
The old people are really right wing but it seems like the young people are mostly apolitical or vaguely democrats. Back when I was a bit younger there was this restaurant that made this great pho run by a single Vietnamese guy and his wife and he would joke with my dad (a progressive type who wore that kinda political button and t-shirt) about how he killed communists like him back home.
