I listened to an episode of the podcast Groundings (a fantastic podcast btw), and the host had an organizer for PSL in Pennsylvania on.
The organizer mentioned that they started a free gym, and got a Brazilian martial arts guy to teach classes for free.
The guy mentioned that Bolsonaro being elected caused a huge rift in the Brazilian martial arts community, and motivated some people to do some really cool shit because of it.
Yea, it did. It was a disappointment (though not surprising) that a huge number of top BJJ athletes were supporters of Bolsonaro. The only one I remember being actively vocal against him was a dude called Robert Drysdale (not a surprise since he also has a degree in Latin America history).
