    You answered the second question in asking the third. I'd be shocked if Poettering did not have a handler from one of the other fine Northern Virginia institutions.

    PulseAudio sucks and has never done anything but make Linux audio harder. Catch me banning it from all of my transitive dependencies.

    oh god glad i'm not the only one. was in the process of putting together a rofi script/menu for this very reason when i read this

    I've had just about zero issues using ALSA when I use Mixxx, Audacity, LMMS, or Clementine on any of my *nix boxes. However, fuck PulseAudio because I've had nothing but hell from PA over the years.

    PA exists because using audio on Linux before it was hot garbage, and no other audio multiplexer was worth its weight. When Pulse runs correctly it's great. Couldn't imagine using my desktop without it.
