If Biden takes it and McConnel keeps the Senate, everybody is taking a year off from politics and the year after it is going to be all midterms all the time. Biden’s ineptitude will be blamed on the Senate, which of course will have a measure of truth but by no means will this scenario chafe Biden, who will be glad to just sit in the chair and twiddle his thumbs. Then we will be going back into the general election cycle. The next 4 years will be just another dragged out electoral campaign. Time to log off and just exist in your organizing groups. Left and liberal media is going to be an insufferable shit show.

I think there were some wider openings for counter narratives and just avoiding the partisan blame game. If Biden had actually swept it, there’d be less reason to take them at their word if they made excuses for not acting. If Trump won/wins, then we’d just be stuck in our present situation of high tension, and there’d be more opportunity to blame the Dems for their total failure.

But this situation we are heading towards seems most favorable to the Dems. They get to continue claiming they just can’t act so we are approximately stuck in time at the moment Trump lost, and everybody remains in fear of what the Republicans could do if they get it back. The primary problem being not so much the liberals, but the aggravating tendency for self-identified leftists to continue doing free advertising for the Democrats. It will be very easy to convince them of this narrative because they basically already believed it going into this election, and so you will get supposed “leftists” with platforms and in publications continuing to focus on getting Democrats elected.
