Cuz I didn't know there were people who requested it. I only browse local, and frankly mostly stick around the mega.

Could've just said "users want a hexbear only environment to avoid conflict and enjoy a relaxed, more original hexbear vibe" , as I now understand to be the reasoning. Don't see the reason for this kinda response

Well apparently. I'll genuflect before I post a single word of inquiry, "why", next time

Text communication sucks, leaves way too much room for interpretation

To kneel like a knight before the cross. This was hyperbole. In rhetoric, an obvious exaggeration; an extravagant statement or assertion not intended to be understood literally.

It was used to express my frustration with the social interaction I had higher up in this comment chain, as I feel like people were unfavourably interpreting my comment, disproportionally so since it was a single word. To insinuate a need to grovel before such a simple, limited in size, comment is hyperbole.

In actuality it was a miscommunication which happens, whatever. And I'm autistic so I read into these things too much trying to understand em.

No worries, I've noticed I tend to interpret things online negatively at first glance too — genuinely think it's something that'd change if there was a more cooperative, inclusive attitude in society, and was conditioned into me by r e d d i t.

An important rule of online discourse is always assume the worst imaginable intent

This is why people with the best imaginations do the best posts

in retrospect i shouldn't have, but at the time i assumed he was being rude instead of genuinely curious

so i chose to be rude in kind because i'm one of the people who wanted this change, as i've found federation extremely trying
