This video has some interesting points, maybe shields with the opposite curve might be the way to go.

    I saw it on twitter a few months ago, but there was this sound engineer who was trying to like figure out how to protect against LRADs and he noticed that if you have like a normal piece of printer paper you can actually deflect the sound waves back so I guess the shield works the same way

    Don't build a shield that curves away from you, but that's a useful trick to know for sure.

    Also, don't build a shield that straps to your arm like these guys.
