in many leftist stories "sex" is a metaphor for being subject to the whims of the powerful bourgeoisie, however Orwell was an anarchist and was more interested in individualist subjectivity (which sees consensual, non-exploitative sex as liberation) than systemic critiques where characters symbolize broader class relations.
that's probably because 1984 is objectively a garbage novel
