What a coincidence -- I was just about to post a comment about how I'm not fond of these. Blackout unis work for some teams, but KU's colors are so bright it doesn't feel right to me
Big 12 is usually a blood bath. Haven't the past 3 conference championship games featured 6 different teams?
I think the PAC and ACC are even bigger free-for-alls this year. Those conferences look really deep.
Really good drive there, although jump passes in the red zone always make me a little nervous since I've seen them picked off way too many times. Good for Illinois that one paid off
OK, maybe it was too good of a drive. They left too much time on the clock and now KU effectively steals touchdown before half...
I kind of expected this to be evenly matched through the first half, but so far (end of the first) it's all been Kansas. Let's see if Illinois comes back later in the game. It's hard to count out Bret (unless he's coaching at Arkansas...)
So Leipold just put both QBs in that play, with both hands up to receive the snap? I'm sure I've seen that before but I can't recall a situation
I'm sure everyone's tuned out of this one by now (I was just about to myself), so if you missed that awesome Altmeyer 70+ yard rushing TD on 3rd and 18, go watch the highlights. With him in the pocket, he effectively ran for nearly 90 actual yards.
What’s your opinion on the targeting call? Either way, it was a massive hit.
Yeah, that one wasn't clear to me. If I was the ref on the field and had a good look, I imagine it probably looked like targeting live. The replay footage was murky though.
