There is a lot more to say about Firefox, which is probably the most important component here. There are so many settings to be configured for a pleasant and private experience, depending on what is trying to be achieved.
- Firefox's extension Multi-account containers
- (Disabling) sponsored shortcuts
- Disabling search suggestions so that not every letter you type is sent to google immediately
- Considering alternative default search engines
- Changing the Firefox tracking protection policy from Standard to Strict, or even Custom with more cookies blocked.
- Disable Firefox Suggest (web suggestions)
- Disable or enable Firefox Data Collection and Use
- "Block dangerous and deceptive content" (can use Google's safe browsing service api)
- DNS settings (too much to say)
privacy.resistFingerprinting(and the numerous caveats this advanced setting has https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-protection-against-fingerprinting)- Consider disabling serviceworkers until someone explains a legitimate real life active use case that isn't just some vector to track a user
Most of what I listed above are simple options that can be found and checked or unchecked in Firefox's settings. Some of them are more advanced and require more awareness of what you're doing. But to any user who is using Firefox, many of these options I think are obvious such as disabling sponsored shortcuts, and disabling search suggestions. IMO if you want search suggestions (as in, letting Google see everything you type in the search bar even if it isn't meant for them) just go to google.com and use their page directly.
