It's literally Napoleon's fault I can understand this as a Dutch person without knowing much French. You studied French for 7 years in high school (wtf 7 year high school?), though your French is still terrible. You regret not paying much attention in school. Something do to with getting girls probably.
I was the same way in high school. I couldn't be arsed to pick up more languages besides English. Kinda wished I knew more now.
