Anyone who unironically uses the term "redfash" honestly doesn't deserve to be taken seriously, either in discourse or as a human being.
It's a term a "leftist" professor that has been bought by the CIA would use. That's probably how it originated.
hexbear has been officially censured by lemmy.world due to us being "red fash" and a "brigade" instance despite never providing any actual proof of hexbear's brigading.
Also fediseer is maintained by db0 and there's a clear conflict of interest there. db0 is defederated from lemmygrad, they cannot effectively moderate our appearing on their silly little database.

I went ahead and looked into it a little closer.
We're still on their whitelist, which could honestly be an accident. But if it's not, then it makes the second part of my findings more annoying.
We were added to the "censored" category because one instance listed us as being "redfash". We banned a person registered to this instance for "liberalism" a short while ago. Meaning, very likely, they retaliated by listing us as redfash on Fediseer.

It looks like you have to be an instance admin.
From what I gather, instance admins file endorsements & censorships on other instances, listing their reasons.
It's nice that it's democratized, but it's not nice that one person can put you on the censor list.
A lot of people struggle to define exactly what is fascism, but that’s because it’s just capitalism, but intensified. If you had to give a definition, it’s imperialism turned inwards.
That's precisely why fascism has been colloquially redefined to mean only what the Nazis did.
Otherwise we'd look at neoliberalism, or even post war era social democracy, and see that it's just fascism.
I got the DM too and honestly for an "anti-spam" database they send out a lot of spam. I literally do not care that we don't appear on their list, I don't need a DM to both tell me we got on it and then that we got taken out. I think about that a lot. Both the redefinition of fascism to mean the specific policies and behaviours of the Nazi party, and the fact that the EU successfully achieved quietly and without much resistance what the Nazis attempted loudly and brashly.
The term red fash specifically has absolutely no meaning beyond telling us that the speaker has no interest in understanding political ideology. It's kind of like tankie but more dumb.
