finally got the day off working a week that felt longer than it should have. i've been trying to hang out with my friend all week and they basically flaked last second. this is right after i got a message from my D&D group that there was some falling out between the two co-DMs and we can't really run with just one. now i got a clear schedule and no one to really hang out with. nothing to do but dread going back to work tomorrow

i rate this day a 7.6/10 on the sadness meter. not really even tragic or bad but just moderately sad

I'm sorry you feel that way. I hope your DMs patch things up so you can go back to playing.

What did you do today after they canceled? Even if it was just watching videos and making lunch I'd like to hear about your day.

i mean it's 3:30. I still got a lot of shit I could do beyond the "sit around on the computer like I have been doing since I woke up". My room is filthy and I got to do laundry. it would be nice to get shit clean around here

    Hang in there, friend.

I've been feeling down for a while for the last few months. And on most days (when I can't interact with anyone outside of work and family), I go for a walk (and/or workout) and cook dinner. It doesn't stop the depression but does seem to keep me from wallowing in despair.

It sucks when you are stuck inside when you WANT to be out and about.

Maybe you could go to a movie and enjoy your own company? Or maybe you could scroll through your phone and see if there’s some other folks you want to try and spring an impromptu hangout on?

As for D&D, I feel your pain. In the meantime, I recommend the “High Rollers” podcast. Specifically when they did Curse of Strahd. I’m listening though it now and it’s scratching that itch while I don’t have a game going.

Best of luck, bud. Make a memory.
