This says the quiet part out loud, only Trump would do that
Norway is a full democracy, which is why governmental institutions can enact policies which deeply impact my quality of life without parliamentary approval, and will be met with at most a Sternly Worded Letter from their higher ups if there's enough outcry
democracy is when you have over a dozen parties and all of them are for apartheid.
They've got the illusion of choice thing down. Kind of like how you go into a grocery store and see thousands of brands but they're actually just subsidiaries of like 3 companies owned by 10 guys.
Same thing with multi-party parliamentary democracies... Tons of candidates, 8+ parties, but they're all controlled by a few guys.
And they all taste the same because the process and supply chain to manufacture them uses the same cheap ingredients.
This is based on the Freedom Index by some US government funded organization whose name I can't remember. edit: Freedom House? , I know.
Always funny to see how Saudi Arabia and the UAE, countries with no democratic institutions, are more democratic than China.
It’s interesting to look at the minor variations between that map and OP’s
Do love to deport an ethnic majority so your "democracy" can win elections.
Chile is a full democracy, but do NOT ask what happened in 1973
Australia is a full democracy, but do NOT ask what happened in 1975
The magazine of Anglo capitalists showing its true priorities once again.
Of course only the western capitalist countries are "real" democracies...
The Netherlands is because you are allowed to choose between sixteen capitalist parties, which is what total freedom and democracy is all about
South Corea as a "Full Democracy"... Bolivia as a "Hybrid Regime"... Worse than Colombia...
Japans a democracy despite being a one party state since the 50s and when you try to run a alt party japanese ultra-nationalists will kill you

The UK is literally a monarchy and their prime minister is an unelected goon.
I'm guessing Pakistan got promoted to Hybrid Regime after the pro US coup last year?
insane that hungary and poland (rigged elections with fascist parties that even the EU distance themselves from) get higher scores than bolivia and mexico (plenty of opposition parties in power at least in state/department level). reads more like a settler colonialism map than a democracy map to me.
