I really dig this artstyle, hate the messaging of course. I don’t understand someone this good can be this smooth brained. Has that old-school 2000 A.D. British comic look.
That's because the same artist also did stuff for that. In fact, both the writer and artist worked on 2000 AD.
I don’t understand someone this good can be this smooth brained.
That panel in particular is satire: it's a comic from an in-universe fascist rag that's sort of tangential to the plot of a fascist incel anti-hero who's a bloodthirsty lunatic who's notably wrong about almost everything.
I don't know anything about the artist's politics, but the writer, Alan Moore, is a self-described anarchist who tore into Frank Miller over Frank Miller being a bigoted fascist weirdo.
Hold up, this is from Watchmen? Is don’t remember this panel, what it from a different edition? Am I being a goober, when does this panel show up? Am I forgetting an entire section? The website in the original post isn’t loading for me.
Oh okay. I pulled that link on the desktop and I see what’s going on. I remember now. I feel like this a sign I need to re-read the graphic novel I got on my bookshelf. I was hoodwinked by my own poor memory. Time to re-read Watchmen for sure !
@CARCOSA@hexbear.net cleared up my confusion. I was just being a goober and forgot this section in the comic. I am gonna re-read it as penance for my transgression against the gods of great comics

This is because it's a fake political comic in a right-wing newspaper inside another comic (Watchmen)
When does this happen in the comic? I forget. Was this panel in a later edition of the comic?
No it's from the OG. It's just such a pitch-perfect imitation of the conservative soul that it's timeless.

i guess it goes to prove that anyone can be fucked.
That's one of the comics within the comic. Or do you mean Watchmen in general?
Oh I didn’t even realize this was watchmen until the other user mentioned it. I don’t remember this panel on at all.
This panel might be satire, but Steve Ditko was a great comic book artist and he turned into an Ayn Rand weirdo.
