boss sent out a year end holiday email that was just like 'woe is me, never have i had a year like this, we have had such a hard time retaining students (this is a small language school in a bigger US city), we couldn't have stayed open without you workers, normally we love to give out year end bonuses but this year fuck you'
smh like covid whatever. i know how much the students pay to study. i know how many students there are. i know how many teachers there are. give me my fucking raise.
I harrassed my boss to get a raise after being there for a year (my signing letter said so, so i had something to point to). and she was just like 'I would love to talk about your performance, but if you're asking for a raise we can't do that' and low and behold, I never had any sort of year evaluation nor raise...
allsooooo. they just decided to change our schedule while we are all gone on vacation, so when i go back, i will work the same total hours, but squished into 4 days instead of 5, and overall this isn't the worst, except it's already a night job, so i'm just working later. and the only reason they are making the classes go later rather than starting earlier is because the students are illegaly working during the day, and doing night classes. and god bless them, sure, they gotta make that coin, but the admin shouldn't be bending over fucking backwards when the old schedule worked just fine.
