American healthcare is constant agony. I just got billed for a procedure that happened 9 months ago for something that my insurance should have covered entirely. The hospital has a slick payment system and would have gladly taken my $600 right away without any party ever telling me that I shouldn't be paying out of pocket. They probably never would have refunded me, and I only realized because I double check all my healthcare bills because I know that these people are fucking sharks.
