Recently I was talking with a friend who told me he had been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. A lot of the specific personality traits he described as being related to this were things I could easily relate to, and so I went and took this test which was designed in 2001 by Sacha Baron-Cohen's cousin, Simon. The average score is supposedly 16.4/50. I scored a 40/50, which is supposed to indicate a high likelihood of being on the spectrum. This would explain a lot as far as issues I've had throughout my life, but I'm not sure what to do about it, assuming the test results are accurate. Should I get diagnosed officially, and would that be beneficial at all? How would I do that? Also, what resources are available for people on the spectrum? Is there any way I can use this knowledge to help improve my life, relationships, etc? Any advice is appreciated.
