Hey guys, I'm a hardware (Digital/Verilog) engineer by profession. I was looking for some cool open source projects to contribute to. Alongside that, I wanted a bit of an intro to open source culture to gauge if I can really fit in. I haven't really been self-motivated all this time and all of open-source looks like its just highly motivated individuals going solo. I was wondering if there were teams in this environment too who can give me a slower ramp into the whole open-source thing.
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there's a great group called Open Source Ecology that's dedicated to designing open source building blocks for general construction/manufacturing, including mechanical, electronic, and software aspects. You might take a look at some of the projects they have going on and see if there's anything you might like to contribute to.
