Mighty rich writing of "secret spending avoiding scrutiny" of another country, from a country which military didn't passed the audit since decades.
not to mention the black funds that aren't tracked at all but have historically been funded through illegal drug running in the US
us citizens are just prey for the MIC to bleed dry
They havent TAKEN audits since decades.
They NEVER PASSED their audits
I also love that someone totally will believe that fucking Bloomberg has access to secret information about military spending in Russia. Yeah, ok, bro.
"as war drags"
My brother in Christ, wars can take years. Especially in the former USSR states, because land conditions make advances difficult during the thaw months.
Also, the whole war would've been ended months ago by treaty if NATO hadn't stepped in and disrupted that. As far as it is evident, Russia doesn't want this to become more deadly than it needs to be. It's NATO who's making the war "drag on"
God I hate MSM
Western liberals do not have the attention span that allows them to accept that a thing can take multiple years or even entire years, to complete. Much like the media they consume there must always be a new big thing to freak out about in order to distract them and keep them from having any time to reflect on things. If they go unentertained for too long they might actually start to think about stuff and not just mindlessly consume and regurgitate MSM propaganda.
I'm extra frustrated about this because liberals will make excuses for why the war on terror has taken my entire conscience life, while throwing shit at Russia for taking nearly 2 years in their war in Ukraine.
One's based, and awesome, and dope because skin-colour-meter. The other is terrible, and evil, and bogus because Russia.
Liberal tomfoolery knows no bounds.
By that same logic Russia could just leave right? Why does there "need to be" war at all?
Why does there "need to be" war at all?
Instead of the Russian government, I believe this question should have been pondered harder by the Ukrainian state starting in 2014. They've been given about a hundred different outs in the past 8 years alone.
One party to this conflict has been murdering civilians en masse after repeated generous peace offers. It is not Russia.
Ukraine has been leading a genocide of ethnic Russians in the Donbas for years, and they've been getting far too friendly with NATO.
The war is happening because Ukraine couldn't keep to treaties, and took a hard turn towards ethno-nationalism.
The war isn't happening because Russia invaded, it's happening because NATO & Ukraine forced the issue.
"Russia can just leave" is too unrealistic to even make it into a Grimm brothers fairytale. It is an untenable position: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/799504
What no. War sucks but this war is essential for Russia to force NATO countries to pack up their bags and leave forever.....
I don't think that nato would pack up their bags when Ukraine looses. Nato lost no soldiers just equipment. A more realistic scenario would be a new us president (or trump again) that decides that this much spending abroad is stupid.
And Europe alone right now does not give enough weapons to Ukraine for the war to continue indefinitely.
This conflict has the potential to completely unravel NATO if it loses sufficient credibility when Ukraine gets resoundingly defeated despite the collective backing of all of NATO. At the very least a Russian victory will force a restructuring of the European security architecture and a rollback of NATO encroachment. And either way even now while conflict is still ongoing Russia showing the world that it is possible to stand up to the US empire and its "rules based order" has drastically changed the global balance of power. It has been a catalyst for the kinds of revolutionary developments that we have seen take place such as the wave of anti-colonial uprisings across Africa, the forging of closer ties between the various targets of the US empire (Russia, Iran, China, DPRK, Venezuela, etc.) and the stunning expansion of BRICS+.
I was just listening to Vijay yesterday, he was saying if Russia loses it will be a nuke war. I mean it's either a Russian victory or negotiations or a nuke. Negotiations won't happen because that means US has to concede that it has lost the war and global hegemony and Russia victory seems to be the only way out of this huge crisis.
Negotiations are going to take place sooner or later but they very likely won't be over Ukraine, rather over the European security architecture and the rollback of NATO presence in eastern Europe. That is the only way out of this crisis short of nuclear war. As for Ukraine itself i think Russia will just impose terms there.
Yeah negotiations will only happen when the Europeans will get up from their cozy beds. I expected French to do some protests on this issue but alas. Also germans let go off NS1 and 2.
It is incomprehensible how the Europeans ever thought they could simply exclude Russia from having a say in the security arrangements in Europe. But they made their bed and now they have to lie in it. And Germany will be the worst affected, they've all but sacrificed their entire economy on the altar of russophobia and atlanticism.
I think it's due to that fact remnants of previous Nazism and colonialists remained in power. I mean people in US and UK were never taught the true history of USSR and white colonialism of British. They also made Hitler and stalin equivalent. Political studies in Western countries are mostly ahistorical and here comes all nonsensical people funded by NATO
Another factor is the economic damage that the west is suffering as the result of the sanctions war with Russia. Europe in particular is now going into a deep recession, and having to keep pumping money into NATO is only going to make the problem worse. We're already starting to see bickering amongst European countries, and internal dissent rising. I expect these trends to continue going forward. Meanwhile, a large chunk of neocons in US now sees European theatre as a distraction from China. If the war in Ukraine is decisively lost then it's entirely possible that US decides to abandon Europe and focus on Asia instead.
loses sufficient credibility when Ukraine gets resoundingly defeated despite the collective backing of all of NATO
On the other hand, it might create the illusion that USA is a total paper tiger (despite the nuclear submarines) and embolden politicians who don't comprehend the toll of war. Plus it would make USA want to do something to restore their reputation
Of it drags long enough european heavy industry would become non viable economically. That means nato is efectivley done for. No industrial base no war making capacity.
