Michigander here! Excited to be a part of the threadiverse. I still have a reddit account, but I plan on spending far more time in the fediverse vs corpo social media going forward. Reddit and Discord are my only holdouts.

I enjoy gaming, birds, food, and movies particularly horror. Halloween season is upon us, and I have a whole horror movie watch list ready to go. Stephen King is my favorite horror milieu and Mike Flanagan my favorite horror director. Needless to say when they both came together with the film Doctor Sleep I was a fan.

I'm a bit of a Google fangirl which puts off a lot of folks in the fediverse. Understable, but I adore their products and services. My phone is a Pixel Fold and it's been, by far, my favorite device. I also live in YouTube. If I'm not watching YouTube proper I'm watching YouTube TV which has grown into the best live TV streaming service by a country mile.

For browsing Lemmy I'm a Sync Ultra Stan. Such an incredible app. @ljdawson can do no wrong. He's the Christian Selig of Android imo.

For Reddit I use Infinity which is still going strong and even has access to NSFW. The subscription is very reasonable at only $2.99/mo USD, so Reddit remains usable.

On Mastodon I use Subway Tooter which is very off-putting out of the box. If you take the hours required to theme and customize the UI it's honestly the best most powerful Mastodon client I've used on both Android and iOS. It's also great for foldables with it's column UI design.

Birds are my other obsession. If I'm not gaming or talking with you all about technologies I'm thinking about/watching birds. House sparrows nesting in my garage, and have been for over 5 years now, are what sparked my interest. Now I'm a full on bird nerd. Going to parrot mountain in TN and meeting 100s of birds in person was life changing. I even got to meet a Moluccan cockatoo named Bob who was an absolute sweetheart. I've watched Moluccans on YouTube for years and I finally got to pet/interact with one.

That's a little about me, and I look forward to interacting with you all here on midwest.social!

Welcome! Ive found Lemmy and the threadiverse have a smaller, cozier feel (at least here in midwest.social) than Reddit.
