    Did they pay, or was theirs one of the desperation checkmarks? I know a lot of accounts were getting stealth-verified without paying so that it would look like a more popular product

      They paid

      A UAW official told The Intercept that the union’s account, which they paid for, was verified until Friday morning, when suddenly it wasn’t

      Ultimately it's a pretty innocuous thing though

    eh, if it means people know they're the real account, and it prioritizes their messages in timelines/search/etc, it's probably worth giving twitter $8 or whatever even though elon's a shitlord

    I see it pretty differently for orgs than people
