This is really just an anecdote... but ~3 years ago I heard this guy Dr. Anthony Jay on a podcast. Sounded smart, seemed pretty sensible, so I checked out his book , Estrogeneration. His thesis is basically that phytoestrogens in things like soy cause all sorts of health problems like infertility. The book's tone was pretty reasonable and he talks about scientific studies and whatnot. But I never got any idea of his social or political views from that book, he kept that out of it pretty well.
In the intervening years, I've since got a much better understanding of stuff like phytoestrogens and how they're not what people like Dr Jay claim (though I do try and avoid plastic stuff and cooking oils as much as possible, those just seem bad no matter what). The other day I was curious about Dr. Jay, so I looked at his public facebook page and YouTube channel. Surprise surprise, this dude is a major TradCath chud. He even seems to imply he supports anti-vaxxers. Hard to suss out his views on COVID exactly... I don't think he sees it as completely fake but I think he thinks it's massively overstated on purpose and is definitely opposed to mask mandates. And he supports herd immunity. You would get none of this info from his book.
So yeah, this chud is dangerous because he can blend in well and appear very respectable if you only listen to podcasts he goes on or read his book.

I think it just plays on fears of men being "feminized". And for people like Dr Jay, meat-eating is an incredibly important social signifier. But as veganism gets more popular the meat industry - which is fairly powerful - is for sure going to fight back hard with pushing things like this.
Jokes on you! Now that Joe Biden us president all "males" will be given state issued HRT, cat ears, and thigh highs.
Inshallah
Fucking finally.
