This CLI package isn't new, and tbh I've been sitting on it for a while, but recently I needed to check out a couple EPUB files so I was looking for a good reader or Firefox extension.

By dumb luck, I remembered the calibre package and finally decided to give it a spin. While not available on Homebrew, it is available on most Linux distros (Ubuntu users, for example, could just run sudo apt install calibre).

Anyway, I opened the PDFs this package made from the EPUBs I inputted and my jaw hit the floor. It fashioned gorgeous, perfectly formatted PDFs. I'm still in awe by how awesome this package is.

So I guess if you use calibre you can uninstall Zathura, Okular, your EPUB browser extensions, etc, and just use whatever basic PDF viewer your distro comes with (or just use Firefox?). Pretty cool!

You should also check out "pandoc". It might already be installed on your distro and supports a ton of formats. I used to the other day for some markdown to pdf and was super impressed.
