I've been reading a lot of vague stuff about him being in some sort of legal trouble or corruption scandal but I can't make it out. I'm assuming it's all made up right wing shit, but how likely is it to take off? What's up?

Chilean here. TLDR: No idea if i´ll take off. The investigation is just getting started and the primaries still havent. Maybe when we enter full election season this will be talked about A LOT more.

A member of his team in the city he is running recieved donations by a company to ensure that they will get a contract to install streetlights and got a preferential treatment where they overcharged the city. His legal team claims that the donation didnt break any rules and that jadue himslef wasnt aware of the bribe.

The media has talked A LOT about this recently but surprinsingly it hasnt seemed to take it off that much, maybe its too abstract or too boring (our current president was literally a fugitive of justice in the 80s because he defrauded a bank), even the right wingers have not attacked him that much yet, only saying that this needs to be deeply investigated . My guess it that it will do the most damage to his image in the eyes of the people that didnt pay much attention to politics, but said "hey that Jadue is one upstanding dude he is not like other politicians".

Weird. It's not "too abstract", it's an obvious common thing. Them not using it to crucify him right now is weird. Maybe they don't want to mention him AT ALL.

Thanks for the answer! Yeah, hearing it explained it sounds like something that will just pass, as he wasn't personally involved. Reminds me of the 2005 videoscandals against AMLO - they got nothing else so they'll continue to play this up and it won't make a major difference.

    (not Chilean)

only thing I've heard in US media was how he is the world's #1 anti-semite (previous title holder Jeremy Corbyn)

They are gonna use that forever, huh.

Anyways given chilean levels of antisemitism, he might even win some votes
