The whole country has become obsessed with bedbugs for a week or so, like front page news. This is after a series of videos that went viral showing them indeed in the subway and in a cinema.
It's probably overreaction but frankly if it results in the gov doing something against these hellish things I'll take it.
Also you will likely be unsurprised to learn that the usual suspects have immediately blamed the issue on immigration.
It was like when in 2019 Germany had plague of this tiny litle bugs that are so small they push themselves into the computer monitors and die there looking like dead pixels, not to mention every other electronic part (they are apparently drawn to EM field or something). I laughed at Krauts losing their shit and overexaggerating things (we also had them in Poland then but much less apparently), but then Poland second-hand shops were flooded with used German electronics with tons of those dead bugs inside, so i guess they weren't exaggerating.
Poland also had a small mantis plague of all things in the same year iirc.
