I blocked your ads because I DON'T WANT TO FUCKING SEE THEM.

Advertisers are some of the most entitled fucking people in the entire world, thinking they have a God-given right to demand everyone watch their obnoxious bullshit. They know people hate their ads. They know nobody wants to see them. They know they're imposing them on us against our will. But they keep fucking doing it.

Joke's on you, though. I can just use a third party converter to download the videos I really want. If I use Google to search Youtube I don't even have to go to the site, much less watch an ad.

i will never pay or watch a single ad.

feels like a test run doesn't it? i'm sure the chrome browser itself will start blocking ad-block soon. and even firefox may not be safe. also i'm sure they'll start threatening to suspend google accounts soon for TOS breech. it sucks because plenty of people use them for normie, business shit and now i'm trying to figure out a way to set up my own email server because i don't entirely trust protonmail.

it's been a couple months, i have a very old account and i've been using it with adblockers of one kind or other since they've had ads on the site and i've never gotten this new nagging thing.

I have both uBlock Origin and NanoDefender installed and wipe my cookies regularly and I've never had a problem with it. It's actually jarring to see YouTube on someone else's computer or phone and see all the horrendous ads

I sometimes forget that I'm already skipping that many ads on Youtube. I can't even imagine how obnoxious they are if they're any worse than the stuff I have to see at waiting rooms and in line in places.

Especially fucking annoying because I already partake in 'voluntary advertising' by reading hobbyist publications on music, games, etc. And will watch videos or articles by professional or average folk talking about stuff I might buy. I have never, ever seen an ad for something and wanted it or been informed of something I'd care about.

I just update ublock origin and clear my cookies and it goes away until the next wave of nagging from YouTube

Maybe there's some A/B testing or country-specific testing going on. I haven't seen any of these nag screens yet in kkkanada .

    • Obligatory invidious.io plug. (or newpipe/piped)
    • Obligatory mpv + yt-dlp (they are packaged together)
    • Obligatory RSS Feed Reader

All you lose is not being able to comment on videos (good for your mental health) and Google profile (the dreaded algorithim)

Most youtubers have multiple social media handles/business emails and many use patreon or kofi. Adsense only benefits those already at the top of the (user-generated content capitalism) totem pole. Sponsorships are more common to see and easier to hold the creator accountable (Raid Shadow Legends is an Israeli dev company owned by an Australian gambling firm lmao), anti-zionists somehow get the zionist 40 babies ads on their videos so its obvious what pulls the strings there.

Down with the antisocial-social user-media platform!

(All of the programs mentioned above are cross platform, no excuses!)
