The superman radio show writers managed to get ahold of all of the Klans secret passwords and bullshit. The had superman go after Klansmen. They explained all the Klan's mysticism and made them look like complete idiots. It was a massive blow to their legitimacy. It helped strip away the mystery and secrecy that made them seem more dangerous than they really were.
