Nitter is an alternative Twitter front-end focused on privacy. It's open source and there are instances running it from which you can choose. I personally use nitter.snopyta.org
All requests go through the backend, client never talks to Twitter which is how Nitter prevents Twitter from tracking your IP or JavaScript fingerprint.
You can simply replace the twitter dot com part of the url with nitter.snopyta.org or any other instance.
You can also use one of the extensions available for Firefox to redirect twitter links to a nitter instance automatically.
Why use Nitter?
It's basically impossible to use Twitter without JavaScript enabled. If you try, you're redirected to the legacy mobile version which is awful both functionally and aesthetically. For privacy-minded folks, preventing JavaScript analytics and potential IP-based tracking is important, but apart from using the legacy mobile version and a VPN, it's impossible.
Using an instance of Nitter (hosted on a VPS for example), you can browse Twitter without JavaScript while retaining your privacy. In addition to respecting your privacy, Nitter is on average around 15 times lighter than Twitter, and in some cases serves pages faster.
Edit: Don't use the official Nitter instance which is nitter.net
Edit: For those who don't wanna check the extensions you can just use this one
Edit: For those who wanna replace Twitter completely with Nitter and don't have/use a Twitter account, you can do so by making one Nitter link to check up to 40 users. It works by adding a comma and a username so it should look like this nitter.snopyta.org/username,username,username and so on then you can bookmark the link.
