Thanks for your donation to the Line 3 Legal Defense Fund! Actions are scaling up on the frontlines to stop Line 3 construction, and with your support, we were able to support bail for several water protectors since December.
We’re excited to share an update about our fund and next steps. In the last month, the Minnesota Freedom Fund committed to covering bail for all folks taking direct action against Line 3, and so we will no longer offering bail support, except in emergency circumstances. Instead, requests for bail can be directed to the Freedom Fund via their online intake form.
Moving forward, we will focus on covering lawyers fees and court expenses for arrestees who cannot cover these expenses themselves. We’re excited to work closely with Pipeline Legal Action Network and the National Lawyers Guild to make sure that all water protectors, regardless of capacity to pay, have access to legal representation in the courts.

Hey sorry, I posted this without much context. This was an update from the Line 3 Legal Defense Fund that I had pinned at the top of this comm for a few weeks. The Minnesota Freedom Fund is an incredibly well funded bail fund that received $30 million during the George Floyd uprisings. Just about every politician was saying something akin to "donate to this org" during the riots. Anyone who chooses to lock themselves to equipment or otherwise will not have worry about drowning in legal fees or being locked up now. I just copy+pasted this directly from the email that they sent out yesterday.

I honestly wasn't expecting the admins to feature this. I appreciate the signal boosting. The Line 3 fight is personally important to me.
This is amazing. Especially with the insane new laws in Minnesota for pipeline protests it’s nice that there is good funding for legal support. Thanks for the work you do!
