Hi,
don't really know how to write this properly. For the last 1.5 years ish I've been taking SSRI:s for my depression. And while they absolutely worked in mellowing my depressive episodes I've still had problems with having my uni studies.
Back in January I missed my appointment for renewing my Sertraline prescription, and since then I have been basically living my life on stand by barely having energy to do anything productive. Well now I'm on my last couple of pills, and haven't taken any for some days.
The reason why I'm writing this is because weirdly enough I'm actually feeling quite happy for once, despite my body tingling like a motherfucker and occasional brain zaps. For example I've been trying to get the courage to get in contact with my uni:s mental health services for like 2 months, AND TODAY I FINALLY DID IT!
Is there any one else here who have felt the same after quitting?
There might also be a non 0% chance that I have undiagnosed bi-polar disorder and what I'm experiencing is mania. I'm not really looking for help with how to fix my situation, all I want is input from others who've been in the same situation since I don't have any friends with mental health issues to discuss this with.
THIS IS NOT ADVICE FOR OTHERS ON SSRIS:s BTW, PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO ME AND CONTACT YOUR THERAPIST INSTEAD IF YOU'RE IN THE SAME POSITION I'VE BEEN IN THESE LAST FEW MONTHS.
