just as chauvinist about their cuisine as they are racist

Edit: Just want to clarify, Japanese is easily one of my favourite cuisines. Thai's probably #1 for me though.

Edit2: Sauce

Ah yes, you are representative of every foreign ex-pat worker in the country. And don't assume that I'm white, I'm a Chinese-Mongolian who was born in Inner Mongolia, don't try to use liberal id-pol against me.

I wasn't calling you a cracker at all. Maybe you're the one that needs go spend more time reading.

The vast majority of "Japan is racist" takes on the internet come from white people who have never lived in Japan. They're just parroting other white people they've seen or heard do the same. You really think that even 10% of the crackers on Reddit going "hur hur hur Japan racist" has even set foot in the country? Get real.

And when you dig down into it, 90% of white youtubers complaints about racism are just them complaining about not being part of the majority for the first time.

Oh, someone held eye contact with you for a second too long because you look different? Fuck those racists for staring at you! Someone handed you a fork in addition to chopsticks? How dare those bigots assume that you can't use chopsticks?! A Japanese person idly told you 日本語が上手ですね as random chitchat? Fuck those patronizing 右翼団体!

Why am I so butt hurt about people mindlessly parroting this shit? Because the idea that "Asians are the most racist" is right now being used by white supremacists to justify anti-Asian violence and discrimination in the West.

And do you know how I know how you, specifically you are also ignorantly parroting shit too? Because when you went grasping for demographics to prove Japanese racism, you went straight by the current hot topic issue of Vietnamese groups and went straight for the much older and more well known in the West shit about Chinese and Filipinos/as.

Are there racists in Japan? Fuck yeah there are. Which country doesn't have racism? But uncritically repeating allegations about an entire country you demonstrably know very little about only furthers the white supremacist agenda of demonizing Asian people as being somehow even more racist than Neo-Nazis.

              • If you truthfully, honest to god intended to call the people I associate with crackers rather than me, then I suggest that the issue is with your writing rather than my reading.

              • Perhaps it's true that Japan gets called racist undeservedly by white ex-pats, but my impression of Japan comes largely from my relative who immigrated to Japan for work, media from the likes of Singapore's CNA, various Chinese new media, and independent journos like Asian Boss. While I understand that these sources are inevitably biased, especially the Chinese sources, these claims cannot simply be rejected as "yellow peril 2"

              • While it's true that the "Asians are the most racist" narrative is being used as an instrument used to discriminate against Asians, but that doesn't justify the willful ignorance of Japan's ethnocentrism.

              • A bold assumption that turned out to be wrong, I bring up the discrimination to the Chinese and Filipino foreign worker community because I am Chinese and I have many Filipino friends, it's natural that these issues would be more relevant to my mind than the issue with the Vietnamese community. Additionally, here you clearly acknowledge that Japan has poor race relations with Vietnamese, Chinese, and Filipino workers where you were implying that this was not true in an earlier comment.

              • I agree that you will find racists in every country out there, but I believe that Japan is different. Japan has a historical record of being uncompromisingly ethnocentric and as someone whose family suffered through the consequences of this ethnocentrism, I believe that I am reasonably suspicious of the state that inherited much of its administration from the Japanese Empire.

And there we go. You don't speak Japanese and base all your information on second and third hand accounts. Absolute ignorance trying to yell over someone who's lived and worked there for years and speaks the language.

I guess I can't believe that slavery happened because I don't have first hand accounts, and I suppose that I should just never study history because I can only get second and third hand accounts LMAO. Stop jerking yourself off for being able to speak Japanese you pathetic fuck. This is what Japanese nationalism does to a mf, makes your brain all smooth.

ironically, you yourself are being racist by assuming that anyone who disagrees with you must be white
