The avocado toast on the right side is the joke… the rest is unnecessary fluff
Why? Avocados are fairly cheap and are an incredible source of nutrition and healthy fats.
Per WIkipedia:
Avocado toast became a food trend of the 2010s. It has appeared on café menus since at least the 1990s. Following avocado toast's elevation to trend status, the act of ordering avocado toast at a café was criticized as a symbol of frivolous spending.
I know that, but that doesn't answer the question. If you're making it yourself, then why is is bad?
One avocado is 50 cents to 2 dollars depending where you are, and a slice of toast is what? 10-20 cents?
Thats an extremely nutritious snack/breakfast food for extremely cheap. Plus its very easy to prepare, all you need is a knife, and a frying pan or toaster.
I’m not saying it’s inherently bad on a literal level. I was joking.
Honestly, the prices are kinda the same. Have you seen how much junk food has exploded in price? That Starbucks alone is like 6-7 dollars.
It might also be the price of time. With how work schedules are people don’t have the time to prepare proper meals for themselves so even though the Starbucks and bag of chips are just as pricey, one is easier to get than the bowls on the right.
Also, who has the time to sit down and eat all of that in this economy? At best I eat a bowl of instant oatmeal for breakfast or some toast.
