My understanding is the CEO of Epic seems to have some personal grudge against Linux, I remember him making some shitty comments about how people going to Linux when they didn't like Windows was like people moving to Canada. All I know is the anti-cheat Epic licenses is the main reason half my library doesn't run on Linux

Oh yeah, that's pretty bad. But it's just for new players, if you're already on steam you're fine. I'd be pretty upset if I had to use Epic's launcher
