  • Todays mundane story of “I miss when things were easy to Google”

I am currently roasting a whole chicken in my Dutch oven. Tried to find a recipe for “whole roast chicken Dutch oven” just to get an estimate on temp and cook time.

Took fucking forever to find something that wasn’t either a whole one pot meal with a bunch of potatoes and other veggies or straight up not even chicken, like beef pot roast. Did I say and potatoes? No, I don’t have potatoes right now, I have one whole chicken and the roads are frozen, I just want to put it in the oven the simplest way possible and be done.

  • Firstly fuck this guy, fuck his house, and it totally makes sense for insurance companies to not continue to insure houses in areas no longer fit for human habitation, like Florida or Malibu

That being said, I don’t think they should be allowed to cancel existing policies. Like, ever. You can refuse to issue new policies, but if someone buys a home and you sell them insurance, you have to keep insuring them until they move or decide they don’t want your insurance anymore. Maybe you can have the option of paying out the whole amount of the policy to be done with it.

But dropping policies on houses people already owned and insured should be so incredibly fucking illegal and whoever signed the paperwork should be shot. When you buy a house, you do that with the insurance in mind. Changing that after the fact when the person already bought the house and now can’t sell it because it’s uninsurable is evil.

  • Why are we doing this then????

I hate capitalists so much. It’s not just that they’ll do anything to maximize profits. Honestly that would be much easier to deal with than what they actually do.

In reality they’re really fucking stupid as well as being selfish. It’s why they strip the copper out of the walls rather than allow a profitable company to just continue. It’s why they burn their profits chasing dream products that will never turn a profit and have immense costs.

Like holy shit just go do something else with that money! Start a restaurant! Yes almost all restaurants fail but that still gives you a better chance of turning a profit than this!
