I think the author of the article is making Gygax out to be a bigger misogynist than he actually was. His responses seemed to be edgelord responses because he was tied off being asked the questions not because he was that sexist.

I hate Gygax because his system was all over the place and had no balance.

1. You're either going to trust random people on the Internet on 1337x.to or here on Lemmy instances. It's all a crapshoot.
2. The people complaining about 1337x.to and IGGGAMES seem to be super purists or unable to grasp that IGGGAMES is made up of many people and certain people in the past (years ago) did shady (shadier) things by uploading games with unwanted extras (crypto miner and other things).
3. There are plenty of people that like 1337x.to and feel it's safe. Safe enough. Nothing is safe, even companies will slip in malware if they think they can get away with it. There is no safe computer.
4. Comments on 1337x.to are rare and rarely have anything important to say. At least there is no advertisement spam comments.

The last few months have especially been bad.

I love when I search for a movie: New Life (2024) it'll give me IMDB results. I hate IMDB so I change my search to: New Life (2024) TMDB Google will give me the TMDB result as the first result and IMDB as the second result but it also has the did you mean "New Life (2024) IMDB" as an alternative search option. Makes me wonder if Amazon (which owns IMDB) is paying Google to push IMDB. Makes me feel like Google is trying to gaslight me.

You are correct. They do this because corporations in the past have sued over even though rules, etc. are fair use. When they first started the OGL they gained a lot of goodwill from the community.

The bad side of this is if someone was to zero out all balances of every user. I wonder if it is possible to do that or just add to the balance. And let's go worse, sending every balance to negative (because they could be too lazy to check for this).

This is one of the reasons why we shouldn't name things after people.

Hilary has negative charisma and being a Democrat woman for her was also a negative. The woman part was the worst.

These are not my feelings about her (well, the negative charisma is) but just my view on why she had little chance versus Don Cheetos.
