Constant struggle sessions and lively clashes: good

Unity shouting mods banning anyone who dares suggest one form of leftist practice is more effective and the definitive path forward: bad

Cyber bullying isn’t real. Like homie just walk away.

There was plenty of bullying on Chapo and it grew at a rapid clip, and grew much faster when they were caught up in major bullying initiatives against other subreddits.

There’s a difference between people just slugging it out and mocking each other (good) and monitoring people’s downvote behaviors to ban whoever the target of the day is (bad).

Do you really not think shit like this is way more alienating to your target audience than some MLs circlejerking with Stalin memes?

Conversations conversations conversations. You want to have conversations about conversations.

This is all so boring to me, so I play with it in bad faith because the entire premise is absurd.

The problem here isn’t tone. It isn’t the quality of the debate. It’s the moderation policy of compiling lists of votes and banning along sectarian lines while shouting unity.

GenZedong bans a ton of people and anarchists, so that’s not really an apt comparison.

Get better at advertising. Don’t make your advertising problem into some weird “anti-sectarian” crusade where you ban everyone with principles or rudeness

If your goal is to radicalize more people into being leftists, you don’t do that by banning all non-leftists from your presence.

Old Chapo worked as a pipeline because it let in the liberals to be bullied. You kick them out, you defeat the very purpose of the only thing you think you are accomplishing

It’s ok to have standards and rules. But keep narrowing the allowed spectrum and keep tightening the rules, you cross into a very small and niche group of people still around at the end of that.

Arguing allowed within a very tight spectrum. Be too rude or too “unproductive” or get on the bad side of a mod in a particular thread, that isn’t allowed.

Old Chapo used to be a Wild West of struggle sessions and that was its appeal, what made it grow. This site has the opposite philosophy. It doesn’t have the appeal. It will stagnate.

For me it’s more that both you lot and redditors care a lot about your imaginary points and put meaning into them, so I like doing whatever pisses you off the most to try and make a statement that your precious points are irrelevant and being downbeared isn’t oppression

This website is never “going to get anything done”. Do you think your shitposts and arguments on here are praxis? You are taking this way too seriously, this website will never accomplish anything and it shouldn’t try to because that’s not what social media news aggregators are for

The mods want it to be. Unfortunately for them, this place is dead in the water. The walls of echo chamber have been erected. I don’t even mean on this issue, by all means ban transphobic content. It’s on every issue. The ban on sectarianism is just a ban on disagreement effectively, in the hands of a mod with a grudge or bias. It’s the 12th type of liberalism. The unity shouting. This place can’t grow beyond like 20,000 breadtubers
