Is plasma big screen really an option? Id like to install it on a desktop to act as a android tv. Launch Stremio, YT and maybe one or two other apps/websites. Easy big tile navigation with remote (flirc).

It's in dev since 2020. The images hosted on the site are bit for any of my hardware. It says theres a Debian package. Installed that though LMDE but it was horrible. Somone mentioned Kububtu can install it with apt, but its not listed. Think I'll give up.

Exact same boat. Normally it's install, mess around, break something/something dosnt work, back to windows.

This time I was able to do what I wanted, install Android APKs, change kernal, change boot order, and even write a short script to keep cotrix awake.

I use syncthing to sync files between devices. But I also like to store less uswd files (along with the rest) in the cloud.

Me too. I chose Endeavour OS (arch btw). Basically off the meme...and coz it seemed pretty bare bones and a good way to learn.

The only app Linux dosent have is a local sync for box.com (similar to dropbox). But it's a service I need to move away from anyway.

Almost every windows app I had was on Linux (most were FOSS already) but I know there will be some unique or interesting ones.

For example in android there is Obtanium now to update apps direct from git, or the many was to use YT without ads.

I use Tracker Control to lockdown PlsyStore apps. Instead of ad block.

With mull an tubular I being see ads on my phone anyway.

Tubular is NewPipe + sponsor block for phone. But as you say its not connected to your account.

People were using revanced to get the YT app without ads. Not sure if it works any longer.

You can also try mobile fire fox with addons. But YT are cracking down atm.

Your setup is the same as mine and it seems the best for now.
