    Outsource.

Use your productivity moments to set up the realistic reminders about must do things and automate what can be automated.

Practice triage. "I've let the dishes go for 3 days but if the trash doesn't go out in the next 3 hours then it will be a week therefore trash comes first"

Enlist cheerleaders that get you and be your own cheerleader to celebrate overcoming things that are obstacles to YOU. "I was feeling physically for a few days which put me behind on doing a bunch of important things around the house, and that made me feel s***** mentally. I fell off the rails with diet, sleep and exercise, and was feeling overwhelmed by all the things waiting for me to get done, but I did triage. I managed to get the trash to the road, and after doing one important thing I also did the dishes that were 3 days behind. I didn't really crush it the rest of the day, but I feel good about how the morning went." " Hey, that's really great. It's hard getting going again isn't it? Good for you! Sometimes getting the dishes done is impressive as hell!"

  • Lie if you like. Don't lie about things you could be asked to do. Like if you say that you were in charge of doing a thing, as interviewer I may well test that.

As interviewer I don't or shouldn't give a shit about your history except to try to predict your future. If lying gets you past HR to get looked by the hiring manager, AND the hiring manager thinks you're a reasonable candidate for the role listed, then that is a win.

    Good luck!

  • Yeah? Ready to be effective day one? Quick explain these 50 acronyms being used stupidly here to try to look like they are smart and in the know. Next you're going to need to fill out a dozen service now tickets with forms written by the criminally insane. You're going to need to talk to one of the BSAs to get access to the right docs folders but you're going to have to know which of the 5 will waste your time and which will be awesome.

You could be an expert in all the stack tech but absolutely fail to be able to contribute because you can't learn those things in school.

You're learning on every job. If you're not, then you are failing.

  • That's simply not how the US goes about it.

It wouldn't be remotely similar. Even if the US decided to limit itself to weapons it had 30 years ago it would still be not that sort of engagement, because it would cost 3600 casualties a day and the US has a wide array of multilayered and coordinated advanced options to use instead.

I thought that was obvious. Ever look at the military spending budgets? US spends more than the next 10 countries combined.

Russia lies about it's readiness and weapons capabilities.

The US lies about it's readiness and weapons capabilities... but in the opposite way.
